Description
For about 36 years, an old 57 Chevy was stored at my brother-in-law's farm near Champion, Alberta. Byron always meant to restore it, following in his father's footsteps. However, he wanted to wait until he had the time to do it up right. That time came in 2010. And, just before the World of Wheels show in Calgary, which was held on Feb. 22-24/13, Byron finished the task. He had the painting and upholstery done professionally, but he did the rest. Byron selected a 2006 Pontiac GTO V8 6l 400hp engine to go under the hood. His aim was to create a muscle car that GM might have built, if they had decided to create one today, based on their 57 Chevy. Byron picked up several awards at the show -- including the Master Builder award. I think that it may be quite awhile, if ever, until he's able to park it in a mall parking lot :). By the way, I took the title of this photo from the licence plate, "FAST 57".
